Dhaka, December 5: Obaidul Quader, General Secretary of the Awami League and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, has said that a section is hatching various conspiracies against the country after seeing the enviable development of the present government.

He said, "The opposition has not thanked the country for the enviable development that has taken place. On the contrary, they have been criticizing it."

"Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina and Awami League have won the hearts of the people of the country with development and honesty, but the BNP cannot tolerate this. That is why they are carrying out various conspiracies against the country," Quader added.

He made the remarks while distributing masks among leaders and activists of allied organisations organized by the Relief and Social Welfare Sub-Committee at Awami League President Sheikh Hasina's political office in Dhanmondi on Friday.

He joined the function through video conference from the government residence in the Parliament building area.

"The Awami League never fights, but it is ready to retaliate if anyone attacks," Quader said.

On the Rohingya issue, Obaidul Quader said that more than 11 lakh Rohingyas have been given shelter due to humanitarian reasons.

He said some people in the international community were criticizing the relocation of Rohingyas to Bhashan Char.

"The country's economic, social, tourism and environmental damage is being done by these Rohingyas, so the government is starting the process of relocating them to Bhashan Char."

The Minister of Road Transport and Bridges hopes that the chances of getting the corona vaccine in the first month of 2021 are very high. However, there is no chance of complacency, everyone has to follow the hygiene rules and wear a mandatory mask until the vaccine arrives.

Regarding various elections at the local level, the general secretary of the Awami League said, if the party does, the decision of the party must be obeyed. If they win or lose by disobeying the decision of the party, they will not be given any chance later.
