Over 4.13 crore people jabbed against the coronavirus in Bangladesh: DGHS

Dhaka, September 28: The number of people receiving either the first or both the doses of the coronavirus vaccine in Bangladesh has increased to 4,13,80,706. Among them, 2,48,80,894 people have received the first dose, while 1,64,99,866 people have taken both the jabs.

This information was given in a circular signed by the Director of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) (MIS and Line Director HIS and e-Health) Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman on Monday (September 27).

The vaccination program against the coronavirus was launched in the country on January 27 this year. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the vaccination program at Kurmitola General Hospital in the capital with the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India.

In the last 24 hours, another 4,89,654 people have been vaccinated. Among them, 3,02,248 people have been vaccinated with the first dose and 1,87,406 people have been vaccinated with the second dose.

A total of 1,56,139 men and 1,46,109 women received the first dose of the vaccine. Among those who received the second dose were 97,957 males and 89,449 females.

Till Monday, 4,48,19,503 people have registered for the vaccine. Among them, 4,41,93,051 have done it with the help of NID, while 6,26,452 have registered using their passport.
