Over 44 lakh people vaccinated in the country

Dhaka, March 16: So far, 57,70,198 people have registered for the coronavirus vaccine and 44,85,954 people have been vaccinated across the nation.

Among those vaccinated are 28,44,355 males and 16,41,599 females. So far, 894 people have reported adverse event following immunisation or side effects.

In the last 24 hours, the number of vaccinators across the country were 87,860. Among them were 50,244 males and 37,216 females. Meanwhile, five people had reported symptoms of adverse reactions to the vaccine.

This information was given in a press release signed by the Director (MIS) of the Department of Health, Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman on Monday.

Of the 44,85,954 people who have been vaccinated till Monday, 14,21,816 people are from Dhaka division; 1,93,416 from Mymensingh division; 9,27,161 from Chittagong division; 4,89,587 from Rajshahi division; 4,23,198 from Rangpur division; 5,88,436 from Khulna division; 1,99,065 from Barisal division; And 2,43,275 people from Sylhet division.

On January 27, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the vaccination program. Runu Veronica Costa, a senior staff nurse at Kurmitola General Hospital, received the country's first vaccination that day. In the first phase, hundreds of people were vaccinated experimentally. After that, the vaccination program has been going on all over the country, including the capital, since February 7.
