Over 5.89 lakh people vaccinated against the coronavirus in Bangladesh within 24 hours

Dhaka, October 4: In the last 24 hours, more than 5,89,000 people across Bangladesh have been vaccinated against the coronavirus. The country has, so far, used 5,12,89,755 doses of the vaccine.

Among these, 3,41,17,948 people have have taken the first jab and 1,71,71,807 people have taken the second dose of the vaccine, a Directorate General of Health Services press release stated on Sunday.

It said, 5,89,427 people were administered the jabs on Sunday. While 4,51,363 people were given the first dose, 1,38,064 people received the second dose of the vaccine.

Two lakh twenty-six thousand two hundred and eighty-eight men and 2,25,075 women took the first dose of the vaccine.

On Sunday, the second dose was received by 72,038 men and 66,026 women.

A total of 5,06,79,792 people have registered, till Sunday, for vaccination. Among them, 5,23,138 people have used their NID for booking, while 6,56,654 people have registered with passport.
