Dhaka, October 30: Due to the negligence of the staff of the passenger launch Tasrif-2 on the Bhola-Monpura-Hatia-Dhaka route, over a hundred candidates missed the BCS preliminary examination. These candidates reached Sadarghat in Dhaka around 10:00 am. As a result, they could not reach the examination hall in time.

Several candidates, including BCS examinee Abdus Samad, complained that they boarded the Tasrif-2 launch from Bhola's Monpura launch ghat for Dhaka around 3:00 pm on Thursday (October 27) to take the 43rd BCS preliminary exam on Friday (October 29). The launch left Monpura at Tajumuddin, Hakimuddin, Daulatkhan and Sadar's Elisha World Road ghats in Bhola and left for Dhaka in the evening. The launch had more than 100 BCS candidates from Hatia, Monpura, Tajumuddin, Hakimuddin, Daulatkhan and Bhola Sadar.

BCS examinee Samad said, "The launch reached near Chandpur district around 10:30 pm and turned around again and came to Hakimuddin launch dock. When they reached Hakimuddin ghat, it was over 12 o'clock at night. Sensing the matter, we spoke to the launch staff and supervisors. Then they told us that they had a problem with another launch Tasrif-4 and they had come to pick up the passengers of that launch."

When we, the examinees, protested the matter, the launch staff and supervisor promised to reach Dhaka by 7:00 am on Friday. But the launch reached Sadarghat in Dhaka around 10:00 am. Later we quickly got off the launch to take the test without getting into an argument with the launch authorities. But we could not take the exam the halls were located in separted places. Later we got on the Tasrif-2 launch around noon and talked to the launch staff and supervisors, who promised to ferry us to our destination at no cost."
