Padma Bridge to open for vehicles from 6 am on June 26

Obaidul Quader said, Padma bridge is no longer a dream, it is a visible reality. Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehana, Joy, Putul, Bobby and her whole family were insulted for this bridge because of a conspiracy. Sheikh Hasina had said in Parliament that day, "We will build the Padma Bridge with our own money."

"Many had asked that day how would it be possible? Many had told me, you are giving this wisdom, would it ever be? We can too, she (Sheikh Hasina) has proved that."

He said, "The World Bank later said that they were wrong. All credit to Sheikh Hasina. We just obeyed her orders. She has built the bridge, and sent a message to the world that we are a nation of heroes. We do not do corruption."

Addressing the critics, he said that those who talk about toll and money, the whole parliament wanted this bridge to be named after Sheikh Hasina. I demanded the same and I also wrote a summary. She rejected it and kept the name, Padma Setu (bridge).

Regarding the invitation, the Minister said that everyone, including the President of the World Bank, Dr. Yunus and Khaleda Zia, will be invited. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given such instructions. We are preparing that way. The work of printing the invitation letter has already been completed.

Chief Whip of Jatiya Sangsad Nur-e-Alam Chowdhury Liton, State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, Awami League Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam and SM Kamal Hossain, Cultural Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil, Office Secretary were present. Barrister Biplob Barua, local MPs Iqbal Hossain Apu, Nahim Razzak, Secretary of the Bridge Department Md. Manjur Hossain, Director of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project Md. Shafiqul Islam and others were present there that time.
