Paltan bus fire: Three, including mastermind, identified
Dhaka, November 21: Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) has identified three people, including the mastermind, in the bus fire incident at Naya Paltan area in the capital.
DB police said the three arsonists could be identified by looking at CCTV footage recovered from the area after the bus caught fire in Naya Paltan.
Md. Asaduzzaman, deputy commissioner (DC) of the Motijheel division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police, said three people, including the mastermind, had been identified in connection with the bus fire in Naya Paltan after watching CCTV footage.
Their names have been confirmed. However, their names are not being disclosed in the interest of arrest. He said they would be arrested soon and brought under the law.
The miscreants set fire to nine buses in Nayapaltan, Gulistan, in front of Aziz Super Market, on the north side of the Secretariat, in Nayabazar of Old Dhaka, Paltan, Motijheel and Bhatara between 12 noon and 4:30 pm on November 12 (Thursday).
Three of the buses burned in the fire were government. According to police, the first fire broke out in a government bus parked on the north side of the BNP's central office in Naya Paltan around 12 noon.
