Dhaka, May 15: In the last few days, there was a huge crowd of people at all points of exit from the capital centering on Eid-ul-Fitr. Hundreds of thousands of people have returned home in the last few days suffering from long-distance transport. The trend of homebound people going home continues even after Eid.

On Saturday (May 15), the Gabtali-Aminbazar area of the capital was less crowded than on other days, but the passenger pressure was noticeable. Even today many people have been seen leaving Dhaka with their families. Returning home, some criticized the government, saying that long-distance transport would not have had to suffer. If it cannot be controlled, transport should be introduced by imposing strictures on hygiene. Otherwise, returning to the capital from home will create a similar situation again.

Today, people were seen leaving Gabtoli area in pickup vans, private cars, microbuses and motorcycles. Earlier, to control the second wave of corona, the government discouraged people from going home from the capital as well as shutting down long-distance transport. But in the last few days, the number of people returning home for Eid without paying any attention to the government's restrictions has gone down. Following this, ordinary people are leaving Dhaka the day after Eid. Even after Eid, they want to enjoy Eid with their families.

Md. Milon works at Sound. After Eid, due to less pressure, he left for his village home Faridpur. He said the family lives in the village house. I was supposed to go home on Eid. But due to government restrictions and so much pressure from the people was not seen. Compared to the last few days, the pressure of people to return home is much less today. I left for home as the pressure was less. I will return to Dhaka after sharing the joy of Eid. From here we will go to Paturia. Today the rent is lower. Asking for Tk 200 per person on the bus.

It can be seen on the ground that the common man is going home with whatever he can by disobeying the instructions given by the government on the occasion of Eid. However, the public transport is not running as usual, besides suffering, the rent has to be more than doubled. Most of these people who left Dhaka on Eid day are labourers.
