People pay tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait on Mourning Day

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, August 15: On the occasion of National Mourning Day and 47th Martyrdom Anniversary, leaders and workers of Awami League affiliated organizations and general people paid tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Bangabandhu Bhaban area was opened to all after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tributes early on Monday (August 15). Since then, people have been paying tribute by placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at 32 Dhanmondi.

Earlier, Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina placed a wreath at the portrait of the Father of the Nation at 6:30 am. Later, as Awami League president, Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait for the second time along with the party's top leaders.

Meanwhile, leaders and activists of Dhaka North and South Metropolitan Awami League, Bangladesh Chhatra League, Jubo League, Women's Awami League, Jubo Women's League, Swechchhasebak League, Sramik League, Tanti League also paid tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait.

Apart from this, Jatiya Party paid tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait. On the other hand, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas paid tribute. Corporation officials were present at the time.

Apart from this, Dhaka University, University Grants Commission, Islamic Foundation, Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance, Awami Muktijoddha League, Bangabandhu Generation League, Bangabandhu Peshajeevi League besides various social, voluntary, cultural institutions, professional organizations and institutions were seen offering wreaths.
