Winter Rains People suffer as winter rain lashes parts of Dhaka
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, February 5: The sky in Dhaka was cloudy since Friday morning, and later in the day rain had started lashing. There was light to moderate rainfall in different areas of the capital including Dhanmondi and Farmgate. Cold wind was also blowing.
Although the cold wave has subsided, the winter has increased due to wind and rain. The weather in Dhaka is glistening with sunshine on Saturday morning, despite a forecast from the Meteorological Department that it is likely to rain for two more days.
According to the weather forecast, the night temperature may remain unchanged across the country during this time due to the tendency of rains. However, daytime temperatures can drop from two to three degrees Celsius.
General people had to suffer as the downpour caused waterlogging in different areas.
According to meteorologists, it is likely to rain in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet divisions in the next 24 hours from 9 am on Friday. Besides, light to moderate thundershowers with temporary gusts or gusty winds are likely in some parts of Chittagong division. Light to moderate fog may fall across the country from midnight to morning.
The lowest temperature was recorded in the country on Friday morning at Tetulia in Panchagarh, at 11.2 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Dhaka was 18.2 degrees Celsius.
