Dhaka, January 25: Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that bangladesh has allowed the anibody test for coronavirus. The minister made the remarks during a press conference on Sunday.

"The demand for antibody testing has been around for a long time. We are allowing antibody testing from now on. It was a demand of many," he said.

"We have received 20 lakh vaccines. We hope to receive another 50 lakh vaccines on Monday. All preparations have been made for this," he said.

Asked about when the antibody test will be done and how many kits there are, the minister said, "Now I have told you that it has been approved since then. I can't give the statistics of how many antibody test kits are available in the market. It will come. Private companies will be able to import this kit. Different hospitals will be able to take it for testing. There is no obstacle in this."

Zahid Malek said that the preparations of the national committee for the implementation of the vaccine have already been completed.

He added, "There are plans to take the vaccine to any district or upazila. We also have a list of frontline workers who will be vaccinated first."

"The prime minister has given us time on January 27. He will inaugurate the vaccination plan. The vaccination will start from Kurmitola Hospital. Some people will be vaccinated there. Preference is being given to those who are on the side of nurses and patients," he said. "We will vaccinate them first. Everyone will get it in phases."

He said that separate seating arrangements have been made for those who come to the district and upazila hospitals for vaccination. "They will wait there for a while and will be under observation. We have made arrangements for immediate treatment in case of any side effects. We are administering the vaccine as per World Health Organization guidelines."
