Peter Haas hopes to drive the US-Bangladesh relationship forward

After the meeting with the new foreign minister Dr. Hashan Mahmud at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, he said that there was a discussion about working to advance the relationship between Bangladesh and the United States.

After the meeting, Peter Haas told reporters, "I had a meeting with the new foreign minister of Bangladesh, Dr. Hasan Mahmud. Today I had a courtesy meeting with him, so that we can discuss the future of Bangladesh and the United States. The meeting also discussed the expansion of trade and commerce between the two countries," said the US ambassador.

He said, "We also talked about how we will work on issues of mutual importance. Such as climate change, increasing business opportunities and the Rohingya crisis. We will work together in the future to further our relationship."
