Dhaka, August 24: The second day of testimony in the murder case of Major (Retd.) Sinha Md. Rashed Khan has started. The second day of testimony began at 10:15 am on Tuesday (August 24) with the interrogation of the plaintiff and Sinha's elder sister Sharmin Ferdous.

Public Prosecutor Advocate Faridul Alam said 15 more accused, including the dismissed OC Pradeep, were produced before the Cox's Bazar District and Sessions Judge's Court around 9:30 am. On Monday (August 23) morning, on the first day of testimony, the proceedings began with the interrogation of plaintiff Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous. However, as her testimony was incomplete, the second day's proceedings began with his cross-examination on Tuesday.

It is learned that the court summoned 15 witnesses including the plaintiff out of 83 witnesses in the case to testify for three days. The prosecution confirmed the presence of three witnesses on the first day and five on the second day. They are Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, Sinha's partner Sahidul Islam Sifat, Mohammad Ali of Minabazar area of ​​Teknaf, Sahidul Islam, Kamal Hossain, Md. Firoz, Hafeez Md. Amin and Muhib Ullah. Testimony of 15 people will be taken till August 25.

Apart from these five, other witnesses in the case are: Md. Abdul Hamid, Md. Yunus, Firoz Mahmud, Mahibullah, Md. Amin and Md. Shawkat Ali of Shamlapur area, Md. Ayub Ali of Ramu Cantonment, Shipra Debnath of Sinha's companion, Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital Two doctors Shaheen Abdur Rahman Chowdhury and Randhir Debnath.

Retired Army Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan was shot dead by police at the Shamlapur check post on the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive road on the night of July 31, 2020. On December 13 of that year, 15 people, including OC Pradeep Kumar Das, were accused in the murder case.

Investigation Officer RAB-15 Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Khairul Islam filed the chargesheet in the court.
