PM calls to make training curriculum up-to-date and time-worthy

Dhaka, April 17: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized the need for a trained population to transform the country into a Smart Bangladesh by 2041 and urged all concerned to make the training curriculum up-to-date and time-worthy by keeping up with technological advancements.

She said, "For the development of a nation only training is required. The world is changing. This is the age of technology. We have to move forward by dealing with technological advancements."

Attending the 8th meeting of National Training Council (NCT) held at Ganabhaban on Sunday, she said that her government is taking plans to make the country a developed and smart Bangladesh in line with Vision 2041.

Referring to the often asked question about what is Smart Bangladesh, the Prime Minister said, "We will develop a smart population with technical training. Our economy will be technology based smart economy. Even our health and agriculture will be technological and mechanized. We want to be smart about all these things."

She said, they want to make society and government smart by using technology.

Sheikh Hasina said that the NCT has been given the responsibility of formulating the training policy as well as reviewing and evaluating it and making it time efficient.

She said, "We have to move forward gradually. We want to improve by involving the entire population. No one will be left behind and we will move towards prosperity with everyone."

The Prime Minister said that she believes that Bangladesh will move towards socio-economic development at an unstoppable speed.

She said, "Despite the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, Bangladesh has made progress. We have been able to reduce the poverty rate to 18.7 percent and the hardcore poverty rate to 5.6 percent. Inshallah, there will be no extreme poverty in Bangladesh."

The Prime Minister said that due to the tireless efforts of her government, Bangladesh has reached a prestigious position because the world is currently showing respect to Bangladesh. "This is the biggest achievement for us."

She said that Bangladesh has reached such a prestigious position because her government followed the footsteps of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and managed the country.

Sheikh Hasina said that Bangladesh has fulfilled the dream of the father of the nation to build a poverty and hunger free golden Bangladesh.

She said that no country can progress without political decision and management.
