Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Sept 29: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going to visit Japan in the last week of November this year. She will visit the country between November 23 and 30.

This decision was taken in the inter-ministerial meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday (September 28).

According to the sources of the meeting, the Prime Minister's visit to Japan is final in the last week of November. The tour is going to be held between November 23 and 30, although the final date has not been decided yet.

An official of the Ministry of External Affairs said that the Prime Minister's visit to Japan is at the end of November, it is final. Both sides are working on the final date and other ancillary matters. But it can be said that the visit is quite important. Because, during this visit, there is an opportunity to take the relationship with the development partner Japan to a unique height.

Diplomatic sources say that the prime minister is visiting Tokyo in the golden jubilee year of Bangladesh-Japan diplomatic relations. During the visit of the head of government, the two countries will want to sign memorandums of understanding (MoU) or agreements on various issues. Bangladesh will seek more Japanese investment in the tour. On the other hand, Bangladesh wants Bangladesh to support the implementation of the Indo-Pacific vision. However, Dhaka will not want to go beyond economic or development initiatives in the Indo-Pacific strategy.

Sheikh Hasina last visited Japan in 2019. Earlier, she visited Japan in 2014.
