PM Hasina, her sister Rehana talk to Tamanna who scored GPA-5 in exam by writing with feet

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, February 15: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana spoke on the phone with Tamanna Akhter Noora, the Bangladeshi girl who was born without hands and scored GPA-5 in the exams for the fourth time in a row by writing with her feet.

Tamanna wrote a letter to the Prime Minister on January 24 stating that she had two dreams including meeting the Prime Minister. In the wake of the letter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana congratulated Tamanna on Monday (February 14) by calling from two separate WhatsApp numbers. At the same time, the two sisters assured all cooperation in fulfilling Tamanna's dreams.

Tamanna Akhter Noora is the eldest of three children of Raushan Ali and Khadija Parveen Shilpi of Bankra Alipur in Jhikargachha upazila of Jessore. Tamanna appeared in the Higher Secondary Examination in the Science Department from Bankra Degree College, Jhikargachha Upazila, Jessore. According to the results published on Sunday, she got GPA-5 in HSC as well as SSC.

Earlier, Tamanna had participated in the SSC examination in 2019 from Bankra Janab Ali Khan Secondary School, Jhikargachha Upazila, Jessore. She did the same in PEC and JSC. Her father Raushan Ali is a teacher at Chhota Poudaulia Mahila Dakhil Madrasa (Non MPO) in Jhikargachha Upazila. Mother Khadija Parveen is a housewife. Tamanna's younger sister Mumtahina Rashmi is in sixth grade, and brother Muhibullah Taj is in first standard.

Tamanna got the "unexpected" Whatsapp call from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the evening while she was getting ready for study.

She got emotional after receiving the phonecall from the country's Prime Minister, and shared her wish to meet the PM and also wanted the Prime Minister by her side to fulfill her dreams.

The Prime Minister promised to be by her side to fulfill hier dreams. Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's younger sister Sheikh Rehana called Tamanna at around 4:30 pm.
