Dhaka, September 18: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who left for Helsinki, Finland, on her way to New York to attend the UN General Assembly, reached the Vantaa International Airport at 4:00 pm on Friday. Finland's non-resident ambassador Md. Nazmul Islam greeted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the airport with flowers.

Awami League leaders and activists from different European countries welcomed the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister also greeted the leaders and workers.

MA Rob Mintu, Joint General Secretary of the Italian Awami League informed from Finland. He was accompanied by former all-European Awami League vice-president KM Lokman Hossain, leaders and activists from various European countries, including Denmark and Finland.

It is learned that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka on Friday (September 17) morning for New York via Helsinki to attend the 76th session of the UN General Assembly.

Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said a VVIP chartered flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Helsinki at 9:23 am on Friday with the Prime Minister and her entourage.

This is the first foreign visit of the Prime Minister after a year and a half. Her last visit was to Italy in February 2020. The Prime Minister will be in New York from September 19 to 23 as part of an official visit to attend the UN General Assembly session and a number of high-level events there.

On her way to New York, the Prime Minister will take a two-day break in Helsinki.
