PM orders to investigate and solve the cause of repeated fire incidents

Dhaka, April 5: The incident of the devastating fire in Dhaka's Bangabazar took place in the discussion of ECNEC meeting. During a long discussion on this issue, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave instructions to those concerned to investigate the cause of repeated fire incidents as well as solve them.

On Tuesday (April 4) at the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC), Planning Minister MA Mannan brought up the issue of the directive of the Prime Minister in the briefing after the meeting. Before this, a terrible fire broke out in Bangabazar of the capital on Tuesday around 6 am. Director General of Fire Service announced that the fire was under control at 12:36 pm.

As many as 50 units of fire service are working since morning to put out the fire. Besides, members of Army, Navy and Air Force along with members of RAB, Police, BGB and WASA participated in the fire control work.

Referring to the ECNEC meeting, the Planning Minister told reporters that the issue of fire in Bangabazar came up for discussion in the meeting. The Prime Minister discussed this at length. The prime minister feels a lot of pain thinking what to do with so many families ahead of Eid.

When asked whether the government will provide any assistance to the businessmen affected by the fire, the minister said, "I do not know the matter clearly. But I think something will be done."

Meanwhile, no one has lost their lives in the fire, but it has been reported that several members of the fire service who participated in the rescue operation have been injured. Most of the shops in the market were gutted. Traders are facing extreme losses around Eid. Many of the traders said that they bought new goods in the shop by borrowing and lending ahead of Eid. Many of them have become destitute due to the fire.
