PM pays tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait on Great Victory Day

Dhaka, December 17: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the Great Victory Day.

At 7:30 am on Friday, she paid tribute by placing a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi number 32.

Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the top leaders of the party first as Prime Minister and later as party president. Top leaders of the party were present at the time. After paying tribute, General Secretary Obaidul Quader spoke to the media on behalf of the Awami League.

She said that the conspiracy is still going on to spoil the great victory. Militant, communal forces and their patron BNP today started a conspiracy to derail Vijay's victory. Against this evil power, all the forces of the liberation war will be united under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina and we will resist the defeated power, we will defeat it completely, this is today's oath.

Earlier, President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the brave martyrs at Savar National Memorial on the occasion of Great Victory Day. First, President Hamid laid a wreath at the National Memorial altar. Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina offered wreaths. After that, the President and the Prime Minister stood there silently for a while paying deep respect to the memory of the martyrs of the Great Liberation War of 1971.
