PM pays tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait on his 103rd birth anniversary

Dhaka, March 17: Prime Minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait with flowers. On Friday (March 17) at 7:05 am, she paid tribute in front of the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at 32 No Dhanmondi.

Sheikh Hasina first paid homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu as Prime Minister. Later, at 7:12 am, she along with the party's top leaders paid tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait again as the Awami League president.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, Advisory Council member Amir Hossain Amu, Presidium member Shahjahan Khan, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Joint General Secretary Dr. Hashan Mahmud, Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif, AFM Bahauddin Nashim and others were present.

March 17 is the 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The ruling party Awami League has taken various programs on this occasion.

Among these, after the Prime Minister paid tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait at Dhanmondi number 32, various political, social and cultural organizations including affiliated and fraternal organizations of Awami League paid tribute.

Besides, Awami League hoisted the national and party flags at the Bangabandhu Bhavan in the capital and party offices across the country in the morning.

Sheikh Mujib, the architect of independent Bangladesh, was born on this day in 1920 in a noble Muslim family in Tungipara, Gopalganj district.

On the occasion of Bangabandhu's birthday and National Children's Day, President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will pay tribute by laying wreaths at Bangabandhu's mausoleum in Tungipara.
