Dhaka, March 5, 2021: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been vaccinated against coronavirus (Covid-19).

Earlier on February 24, Sheikh Rehena, the youngest daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and sister of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was vaccinated.

The PM inaugurated the vaccination program at Kurmitola General Hospital on January 26 by joining a video conference from Ganobhaban. Five people were vaccinated in the presence of her at the inauguration ceremony.

Later on February 8, the national vaccination program started. The country has a capacity of 360,000 immunizations per day from 1,400 immunization centers.

Inaugurating the vaccination program on February 26, Hasina had said, "I will definitely take the vaccine, but I want the people of the country to take it first. If another person lives for one of my vaccines, that's the biggest thing."

Noting that the government is taking steps to ensure that no one is left out of the vaccination program, the Prime Minister said, "We are already making arrangements to bring in another 30 million vaccines. We are taking steps to get the second dose after the first dose.
