Dhaka, October 3: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the election must be held under a neutral government and conducted by a neutral election commission.

He made the remarks at a discussion held at the Ramna Engineers Institution auditorium on Saturday (October 2nd).

Fakhrul said, 'Your end is near. There is still time, listen to the people. See the writing on the walls. Let a caretaker government take control and you move away during the elections. Let the people exercise their right to vote."

Criticizing the Election Commission, the BNP Secretary General said, "The funny thing is, the Election Commissioner Huda Saheb, who has completely destroyed the electoral system. He also said that the election commission should be formed in consultation with the political parties."

Fakhrul said, "Without movement, without mass uprising, this monster cannot be removed. In order to remove this monster, we have to unite all the people, all the political forces and cause a mass uprising."

Mirza Fakhrul said, "Awami League is trying, they will come to power again with such an election. People will not be able to vote in that election. EVM is another great tool for them to steal votes, to declare oneself elected without getting votes."

"We have to stand up against this conspiracy, the horrific attempt to deprive the people of Bangladesh of their rights," he said.
