Premium Sweets owner, two others killed in road accident in Canada
Dhaka, May 15: Three Bangladeshis, including the owner of Bangladesh's Premium Sweets, have been killed in a road accident in Canada. The crash happened on Highway 401 on the way from the capital Ottawa to Toronto on Thursday (May 13) local time in Canada.
The deceased were identified as Bangladeshi-Canadian Moniruzzaman Bijoy, his mother-in-law and Liaquat Hossain, one of the makers of Premium Sweets. Moniruzzaman died today at Sunnybrook Hospital while undergoing treatment. The other two died on the spot yesterday.
Moniruzzaman Bijoy is the owner of famous Premium Sweets in Bangladesh and Canada and younger brother of HM Iqbal, President of Bangladesh Business Chamber of Canada.
News of their deaths spread through social media, casting a shadow of mourning over the Bangladeshi community in Canada.
