Dhaka, September 28: President Mohammad Abdul Hamid has directed the concerned authorities to ensure proper hygiene in all places including classrooms, dormitories, campuses and offices for the introduction of on-site classes in the university. The President issued the directive when a delegation led by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman called on him at Bangabhaban on Monday (September 26) to start physical education activities at Dhaka University.

Munshi Jalal Uddin, Deputy Press Secretary to the President, said that the President and the Chancellor of the University, Abdul Hamid, had directed the university administration to take steps to complete the immunization of all students in a short period of time.

President ordered effective measures, including extra classes, to compensate students for the loss of education due to the coronavirus situation. At the same time, he attached utmost importance to the observance of hygiene rules in educational institutions.

During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor informed the President about various aspects of the university and informed that on-site classes will be started after all the students of the university get at least one dose of vaccine. In this case students will be included in the class activities step by step. The Vice-Chancellor also apprised the President about the preparations for the event to be held on November 1 to mark the centenary of the university.

The university delegation briefed the President on the preparations for the commencement of on-site classes at DU and the overall activities of the university.

Also in the delegation were Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad; Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof. Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal; And Treasurer Professor Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed.

Secretary to the President's Office Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salah Uddin Islam and Secretary (Joint) Md. Wahidul Islam Khan were present on the occasion.
