Independence Day President, PM cut cake on Independence Day
Dhaka, March 27: President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina cut a cake on the occasion of Independence and National Day. The cake was cut at the state reception on the occasion of the great independence and national day celebrations at Bangabhaban on Sunday.
The wife of President Md. Abdul Hamid and President-elect Md. Shahabuddin and his wife, Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique were present. Ambassadors of different countries exchanged greetings with the President and Prime Minister during the event.
About 2,500 guests were invited to the Independence and National Day celebrations after a long gap due to the Corona pandemic.
Among them were cabinet members, advisers, ministers of state, ambassadors and high commissioners of various countries, Supreme Court judges, heads of the three armed forces, members of parliament, senior political leaders, academicians, business leaders, artists, valiant freedom fighters and family members. Besides top civil and military officials. Newspaper editors and journalist leaders also attended the reception. Gallantry awardees and distinguished citizens were present at the reception.
After that iftar is organized. Before the Iftar, a special prayer is offered for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country.
