President, Prime Minister condole death of UAE President
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, May 14: President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed deep grief over the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
They expressed their condolences in separate messages on Friday (May 13) evening.
In his condolence message, President Md. Abdul Hamid said, "The late UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has played an important role in the development of relations between Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates. In his death, we have lost a true friend of Bangladesh."
Abdul Hamid prayed for the forgiveness of the soul of the late President Zayed Al Nahyan. He conveyed his deepest condolences to the family of the late President, the Government and people of the United Arab Emirates.
In another condolence message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep sorrow over the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
She expressed her condolence in a message sent to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
