President-Prime Minister greets citizens on Eid

Dhaka, June 28: Eid-ul-Azha, the second highest religious festival of Muslims, will be celebrated across the country tomorrow Thursday. On this occasion, President Md Sahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina conveyed sincere greetings and Eid Mubarak to all the Muslim communities of the world, including Bangladesh.

In his address, the President said, "Sacrifice instills in us the mentality of self-giving and self-sacrifice, awakens the spirit of sharing happiness and sorrow with relatives and neighbors and teaches tolerance." Therefore, he called upon the poor and underprivileged people of the society to stand by the side of the current global and economic crisis of the country.

The President also said, "pure intentions and legitimate earnings are necessary for the acceptance of Qurbani by Almighty Allah. I hope that everyone will try to stop environmental pollution by performing Qurbani at the designated place by the government. The ideal of sacrifice. May the joy of Eid spread among all."

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her message said, "Eid Mubarak to all on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha. Sacrifice means sacrifice. Eid-ul-Adha becomes meaningful by giving up pettiness, meanness, pride and selfishness. Enlivened by the glory of sacrifice, we devote ourselves to human welfare. Friendship and Let's share the joy of Eid-ul-Azha in the bond of brotherhood."

Sheikh Hasina said, "The unique example that Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) has set by devoting his beloved things to the Almighty God will forever be a model and follow for the people of the world."

The Prime Minister said, "Each year, wealthy Muslims distribute the meat of the sacrificed animal to their relatives and the poor-sufferers to establish a bond of solidarity and equality between people."

The Prime Minister also said, "On the day of Eidul Azhar, I pray to Almighty Allah Rabbul Alamin for the future development, prosperity and continued peace of the beloved motherland Bangladesh and the Muslim Ummah. May Allah Almighty help us. May everyone be well, be safe and be healthy."
