Dhaka, December 16: On the occasion of Great Victory Day, President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the brave martyrs at Savar National Martyrs' Memorial. They entered the National Martyrs' Memorial at 7:30 am on Friday (December 16) and paid tribute by placing flowers at the main altar.

First, President Hamid laid a wreath at the National Martyrs' Memorial Altar. Later, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina offered wreaths. After that, the President and the Prime Minister stood there silently for a while paying deep respect to the memory of the martyrs of the Great Liberation War of 1971. A smart team of Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force gave the national salute on this occasion. At this time, the bugle sounded a sad tune. The President and the Head of Government signed the visitor's book kept in the memorial premises.

After leaving the President's Memorial for Dhaka, the Prime Minister paid his respects by laying a wreath at the altar of the National Memorial along with the party leaders as the party president.
