President returns home after completing Turkey visit

Dhaka, 7 June 2023: President Md. Sahabuddin returned home after a six-day visit to Turkey, including attending the swearing-in ceremony of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

At that time, the Minister of Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque, Cabinet Secretary, Dean of Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of Turkey to Bangladesh, Chief of the three forces, Secretary of the Maritime Affairs Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, IGP, Secretary of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs and other civil and military high-ranking officials. The president of the airport was present to welcome him.

Earlier, the Head of State left for Dhaka at 7:43 am (Ankara time) from Esenboga Airport in Ankara, the capital of Turkey.

Ambassador of Bangladesh to Turkey at the airport Amanul Haque, Turkish Foreign Ministry Representative Ambassador Wa Tunga Kagli and Ankara Deputy Governor Murat Soylu and related senior officials bid farewell to him.

The President left Dhaka for Ankara to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Grand National Assembly in Ankara on June 1 at 11 pm.

President's press secretary Zainal Abedin said that the leaders of 77 countries of the world attended the oath taking ceremony.

Representatives of international organizations, including NATO and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), were also present at the event.

The President of Bangladesh congratulated the President of Turkey and joined the photo session there.

The presidents of both the countries inquired about each other.
