National Mourning Day President's prayer held at Bangabhaban on National Mourning Day
Dhaka, August 16: President Md. Shahabuddin organized a discussion meeting and Milad Mahfil on the occasion of the National Mourning Day and the 48th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban on Tuesday. The President offered Asar prayers at the Durbar Hall before joining the prayer ceremony.
A short discussion session was held before Asar prayers. President's Military Secretary Major General Salahuddin Islam, Secretary Wahad Barua, Press Secretary Md. Zainal Abedin and Secretary (Joint) Md. Wahidul Islam Khan spoke on the occasion.
After asar, Milad and Doa Mahfil were held. The doa mahfil was conducted by Pesh Imam of Bangabhaban Jame Masjid Maulana Muhammad Saiful Kabir.
On the fateful night of August 15, 1975, Bangabandhu and other family members, who were martyred, were offered special prayers for the forgiveness of their departed souls. In addition to Bangladesh, the world and the Muslim Ummah are prayed for peace and prosperity.
Members of the President's family, concerned secretaries, civil and military officials and employees of Rashtrapati Bhavan participated in the Milad Mahfil and prayer.
