President Abdul Hamid President visits under-construction cantonment in Kishoreganj
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, March 30: President Md. Abdul Hamid has inspected various development projects including under-construction cantonment in Mithamin upazila of Kishoreganj.
When the President reached the cantonment area on Tuesday (March 29) afternoon, he was welcomed by Major General Naqib Ahmed Chowdhury, GOC of the 19th Infantry Division.
The President was then briefed on the progress of the cantonment work through a Power Point presentation. The President toured the cantonment area by speed boat. Senior Member of Parliament Rezwan Ahmed Tawfiq, Military Secretary to the President Major General SM Salahuddin Islam and Press Secretary Md. Joynal Abedin were also present.
Earlier, President Abdul Hamid reviewed the progress of the construction work of the foundation building. Later, he visited the under-construction Bahadurpur Bridge over the Sobure Bhanga river in Austagram and exchanged greetings with the local people.
President Md. Abdul Hamid arrived in Kishoreganj last Sunday on a five-day official visit. The President will lay the foundation stone for the construction of Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center at Kishoreganj district headquarters on Wednesday. He is scheduled to return to Dhaka the next afternoon.
