Prez Hamid, PM Hasina congratulate US President elect Joe Biden and deputy Kamala Harris

In a congratulatory message on Sunday, the President said the existing relations between Bangladesh and the United States are excellent. He hoped that under the leadership of the newly elected President of the United States, the existing relations between the two countries would reach new heights in the days to come and expand in various fields including trade and investment.

In a similar message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina congratulated Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on being elected President and Vice-President of the United States.

In a separate message to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Sheikh Hasina said she warmly congratulated the Bangladesh government and people on their victory as the 46th President of the United States and the 49th Vice-President.

In a message to Biden, the Prime Minister said: "I believe that your victory is a reflection of the deep confidence and trust of the American people in the extraordinary leadership. Your leadership will empower the United States to meet the challenges of international cooperation and climate change in a new era of peace and prosperity," she said.

Mentioning that Bangladesh has built an excellent and sustainable relationship with the United States since its independence in 1971, he hoped that under the leadership of Joe Biden, the relationship would reach new heights.

The Prime Minister hopes to work closely with the new US President to address issues such as terrorism, violent extremism, hatred, and forced displacement of the Bohings.

Sheikh Hasina also wrote to Kamala Harris, "Your glorious victory bears witness to your heroic leadership, significant achievements in public service and your valuable contribution to the country and the people."

Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh and the United States have built a lasting and fruitful partnership since the establishment of diplomatic relations, which has been developing and deepening over time.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina cordially invited Joe Biden and Kamal Harris to visit Bangladesh as soon as possible to witness the country's attractive socio-economic development and extraordinary empowerment of women.
