Primary students in government schools to get money for clothes, shoes and bags

Dhaka, June 5: Government primary school students will get money (kit allowance) to buy school bags, clothes and shoes. For this, allocation has been made in the proposed budget of 2021-2022 financial year.

According to the ministry, the initial kit allowance for each student at the beginning of the year has been increased to Tk 1,000 and the monthly stipend has been increased from Tk 100 to Tk 150.

For this, Tk 3,712 crore has been allocated in the current financial year, of which Tk 1,200 crore will be spent on kit allowance and the remaining money will be spent on stipend.

The stipend money is being delivered digitally to the mobile accounts of the parents of the beneficiary students.

An allocation of Tk 26,311 crore has been proposed in the proposed budget for the primary education sector.
