Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 18 November 2023: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today called on all political parties of the country, including BNP, to participate in the upcoming national elections, saying that BNP should participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections by apologizing to the nation for committing crimes and arson.

In her opening speech at the first meeting of Bangladesh Awami League's election management committee at the party's Dhaka district office in Tejgaon in the city, he said, "The door of election is open to all."

Pointing out that the election schedule has been announced, Sheikh Hasina said, "Everyone should come forward and participate in the elections. (Everyone) should go to the people and ask for votes."

"They (BNP-Jamaat) should apologize to the nation for their crimes and then participate in the 12th National Assembly elections," she said, referring to the BNP-Jamaat especially killing people and causing damage to property through violence and burning of vehicles.

Awami League Election Management Committee Chairman Sheikh Hasina thanked the Election Commission for announcing the schedule of elections on time without fear of arson and violence.

Seeking the cooperation of the countrymen so that the elections are held on time, she said, "This election is to ensure the voting rights of the people and to form the government of their choice. 'I will give my vote, I will vote for whomever I like' - with the slogan - you vote (in the election)."

Referring to the youth society, Sheikh Hasina said that her government has built Digital Bangladesh and now everyone is reaping its benefits. Now his government is trying to make the country a smart Bangladesh in the future. "We hope that we can do this with their (young people's) cooperation."

She asked, "Why should people vote for and trust people who have killed and planned to kill common people?"

She also said that people do not trust them because they are identified as murderers and conspirators. Stating that election is the right of people and it is their constitutional right, she said, the time of election has come and people will vote.
