Bangladesh Army Prime Minister calls upon Army to focus on achieving professional excellence
Dhaka, June 21: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon every member of the Bangladesh Army to focus on achieving the highest professional skills and excellence in keeping pace with the changing world security system.
The Prime Minister said, "I believe that the Bangladesh Army will always be ready to face any kind of disaster as well as protect the sovereignty of the country by continuing the success of the past."
The Prime Minister was speaking at the inaugural function of the Tiger Multiple Launch Rocket Missile System (MLRMS) connection to the 51 MLRS Regiment of the Bangladesh Army at Savar Cantonment on Sunday (June 20). Noting that the Tiger MLRMS is capable of hitting multiple remote targets simultaneously in less time than other artillery systems, she hoped it would add a new dimension to further enhance the existing capabilities of the Bangladesh Army.
"Members of the armed forces continue to make the greatest sacrifices in times of need for the country, especially now that they are acting as front liners in the face of the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic," she added.

At the time, Sheikh Hasina reiterated her call on the people to follow hygiene rules to keep themselves away from the coronavirus infection.
"The outbreak of Covid-19 has stopped the world economy. But the government is trying to move the country's economy forward. Bangladesh is moving forward and is now more economically developed. Economically, Bangladesh has gained the ability to keep pace with many countries in the world," she said.
"We want Bangladesh to be a developed country, where it will be free from hunger and poverty and every family will live in good condition," PM Hasina said.
"The Awami League government has been in power for a long time and is leading the country economically," she said.
The Prime Minister said that after coming to power in 2009, her government has been formulating and implementing 'Forces Goal-2030' in line with the 'Defense Policy' formulated by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1974. She added that the Awami League government established the Bangladesh Peace Building Center (BPC) in 2016.
Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed addressed the gathering at the edge of Savar Cantonment. An audio-visual documentary about Tiger MLRS was screened at the time.
Tiger MLRS was inducted into the Army on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the country's independence.
