Padma Bridge | Toll Prime Minister Hasina becomes first toll payer at Padma Bridge
Dhaka, June 25: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina started the process of paying toll soon after the much awaited Padma Multipurpose Bridge was opened to traffic. According to officials, the Prime Minister is the first person to cross the Padma Bridge by paying the toll.
Earlier on June 17, the authorities had crossed the toll plaza at the Mawa end for the Padma Multipurpose Bridge toll plaza and tested some public vehicles.
The experimental traffic process lasted for seven days and the authorities rehearsed the process of taking tolls and issuing slips during this period.
Although the Padma Bridge was inaugurated for traffic today, it will be opened for public traffic tomorrow (June 26) at 6 am.
