Bureaucracy Prime Minister Hasina is happy with bureaucracy
Own correspondent, Dhaka, 29 August 2023: Planning Minister MA Mannan said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is happy with the bureaucracy. The minister said that the assessment of the Prime Minister was received at the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC).
A meeting was held on Tuesday (29 August) at the NEC conference room in the capital's Sher Bangla Nagar. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting. At the end of the meeting, Planning Minister MA Mannan and State Minister for Planning Dr. Shamsul Alam gave details in the press conference.
The Planning Minister said that the Prime Minister is happy with the bureaucracy. Everyone is doing well. He also urged for reducing inflation and reducing unnecessary expenditure on various projects. The Prime Minister has also given instructions on manpower shortage in the country's hospitals, including planting trees in various projects. Asked to take necessary measures to eliminate the manpower crisis.
The Planning Minister said that the Prime Minister has again ordered to reduce unnecessary expenses. In this regard, he said, unnecessary, extravagance, wastage should be reduced. Projects that are 70 to 80 percent complete should be completed on priority. Prime Minister said that a new window of loan has been opened. In this case, loans will be available from New Development Bank.
"So now we can borrow at a bargain. Now we will borrow from ADB, World Bank, AIIB and New Development Bank—wherever we can get loans on easy terms," he said.
He said that the Prime Minister has given instructions not to pave under the drains or ponds. Because water cannot go down in it. He also warned about sluice gates. In this regard, the Prime Minister said, those who make the sluice gate leave. And those in charge cannot be found. Besides, he has asked to give importance to green belt in all the projects. Urged to take money from Climate Fund. Regarding the development of the hospital, Sheikh Hasina said that only building will not be enough. Equipment and manpower should be ensured with this. I often hear that hospitals have no equipment and no manpower. It's not right.
MA Mannan said, we congratulated the Prime Minister at the beginning of the meeting. Because the universal pension facility has been introduced in the country under the leadership of the Prime Minister. I also congratulated the Prime Minister for attending the BRICS summit. We have joined the New Development Bank of BRICS. As a result, we have taken a step further towards BRICS membership. We have congratulated the Prime Minister on these matters.
