UN General Assembly Prime Minister Hasina leaves Dhaka for New York to attend 76th UN General Assembly
Dhaka, September 17: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left Dhaka to attend the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York. She left the capital with her entourage on a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at 9:23 am on Friday.
According to the schedule, the plane carrying the Prime Minister will land in Helsinki, Finland at 3:45 pm Bangladesh time. The Prime Minister will stay there for two days. During the break, Sheikh Hasina will be staying at a Hotel Kamp in Helsinki. The Prime Minister will leave Helsinki's Vantaa International Airport for New York at 4 pm local time on Sunday (September 19). The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive at John F. Kennedy Airport around 6:00 pm New York time. After the airport formalities, the Prime Minister will visit Lotte New York Palace, her residence during the visit.
The Prime Minister will take part in a closed-door meeting on climate change along with heads of states and governments at 9:00 am New York time on Monday (September 20).
At 11:30 am, on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a tree will be planted in the garden on the north lawn of the UN headquarters and a bench will be dedicated.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the 76th session of the UN General Assembly on Friday (September 24) morning local time. She will hold a meeting with her Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte at noon and will take part in a civic reception hosted by the Bangladeshi community living in the United States at 8:00 pm, virtually.
Hasina will leave New York for Washington on Saturday (September 25) morning. The Prime Minister will stay in the United States till September 29. She will then leave Washington for Helsinki on September 30 at 5:00 pm on Biman Bangladesh Airlines' VVIP flight BG-1904.
The Prime Minister will arrive at Helsinki's Vantaa International Airport on Friday (October 1) at 7:45 am. Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-1905 will leave for Dhaka at 9:45 am. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to arrive in the country at 10:15 pm on Friday (October 1).
