Dhaka, September 20: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived in New York, USA to attend the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). A VVIP chartered aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at New York's JFK International Airport at 10:25 pm (local time). Bangladesh Ambassador to Washington Muhammad Imran and Bangladesh Permanent Representative to the United Nations Muhammad Abdul Muhith welcomed the Prime Minister at the airport.

Earlier, the flight left London's Stansted International Airport on September 19 at 8 pm (local time). Before leaving the UK, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II along with other world leaders at Westminster Abbey in London on Monday (September 19).

The Queen's funeral was held at Westminster Abbey, the building where she was married and crowned Queen.

On September 15, Sheikh Hasina arrived in London on a state visit to the United Kingdom (UK) to attend the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. On the evening of the fourth day of her visit to the UK, the Prime Minister attended a reception for King Charles III at Buckingham Palace. He organized the reception in honor of the presidents, prime ministers, kings and queens who came from different countries to participate in the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to attend the reception hosted by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the opening ceremony of the 77th session of UNGA in New York on September 20. She will hold bilateral meetings with UNHCR's Filippo Grandi and Slovenian President Borut Pahor. She will participate in UNGA's Platform for Women Leaders. At the end of the day, she will attend a reception hosted by US President Joe Biden.
