Dhaka, November 2: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "We are going through a very difficult time now. In this situation, it will be best for us if we can stand on our own. For this, we all have to work hard. We have to practice austerity."

At the time, the Prime Minister said, "The prices of all the things that have to be imported from abroad are increasing. As a result of the pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, sanctions and counter-sanctions have led to this situation. Not only Bangladesh, developed countries are also suffering."

She said this at the closing ceremony of the 124th, 125th and 126th law and administration training courses at the BCS Administration Academy on Wednesday (November 2).

The Prime Minister said, "I know the situation of developed countries. Even America, Europe, England, every country is now under the grip of economic recession. Electricity cannot be supplied, food prices have increased, rationing has been done everywhere. Such an unusual situation."

Regarding what Bangladesh should do in this situation, she said, "I have been saying for a long time that not an inch of land should be left empty. Because we have to produce our own food. We need industrialization to process food and ensure food and nutritional security of the people of the country."
