Dhaka, November 17: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged everyone to resist the evil forces that misinterpret Islam.

Sheikh Hasina said, "Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has done a lot for Islam in the country. As his successor, the government is working tirelessly for the development of Islam and the people."

She said, "We have adopted a zero tolerance policy against militancy to keep the country free from militancy and uphold the peaceful glory of Islam. We have also involved scholars and scholars to combat this militancy. The imams of mosques are being trained by involving religious leaders for human resource development. Mosque-based children and public education are being provided through the Islamic Foundation. The government has provided Quran education to millions of children under the programme."

The head of government said, "With the formation of the government in 2009, we restarted the mosque-based children and public education program which was closed with 643 crore 55 lakh taka. Currently, the allocation of this project has been increased to 2,272 crore four lakh taka. In all the districts and upazilas of the country, Tk 9,435 crore project has been undertaken for construction of 564 model mosques and Islamic cultural centers are being implemented.”

The Prime Minister said, "If any agency cheats or harasses the pilgrims, various administrative measures are being taken against that agency. Those who harass the guests of the House of Allah in the coming days will face severe punishment. This should be remembered."
