National Day Prime Minister joins President's reception at Bangabhaban
Dhaka, March 27: On the occasion of the 53rd Independence and National Day, a special prayer was held to wish the country continued peace, progress and prosperity at the reception organized at Bangabhaban. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the reception at Bangabhaban lawn around 5 pm on Sunday. President Md. Abdul Hamid and his wife Rashida Hamid organized the event.
Newly elected President Md. Shahabuddin, his wife Dr. Rebeka Sultana, Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique were present on the occasion. After a long gap due to the Covid-19 pandemic, about 2,500 guests were invited to the Independence and National Day celebrations.
The guests included cabinet members, advisers, ministers of state, ambassadors and high commissioners of various countries, Supreme Court judges, heads of the three armed forces, members of parliament, senior political leaders, educationists, business leaders, artists, valiant freedom fighters and members of the President's family. Top civilian and military officials as well as newspaper editors and journalist leaders also attended the reception.
Gallantry awardees and eminent citizens were present on the occasion. President and Prime Minister cut the cake on this occasion. On the occasion, they exchanged greetings with the wounded freedom fighters and dignitaries and guests.
After that iftar is organized. Before the Iftar, a special prayer is offered for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country.
