Own Correspondent, Dhaka, June 21: Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen has said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to visit New Delhi in early September at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Returning to Dhaka after the Bangladesh-India Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) meeting in the Indian capital, he told reporters at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday that "the probable date of the Prime Minister's visit to New Delhi could be in the first ten days of September."

Momen said the PM's office will finalize the date of her visit. During Momen's meeting with his Indian counterpart Dr. S Jaishankar, the timeline for Hasina's visit to India was set.

He said Dhaka and New Delhi have decided to implement bilateral decisions before Sheikh Hasina's visit to India.

The Foreign Minister of Bangladesh and the External Affairs Minister of India co-chaired the 7th meeting of the JCC in New Delhi on Sunday.

Commenting on the JCC meeting, Momen said Dhaka has raised all unresolved issues with New Delhi, including water sharing and border killings.

Mentioning that "they have had a very good meeting," he said, "The Indian side had responded positively to the management of transboundary water between the two countries."

The Foreign Minister said they also discussed the return of fugitive Bangladeshi businessman and former managing director of NRB Global Bank, Prashanta Kumar Halder alias PK Halder. He said New Delhi had promised to hand over PK Halder to Bangladesh authorities after completing some legal process in India.
