Prime Minister pays tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, August 15: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with flowers. She paid tribute on the occasion of Bangabandhu's 47th martyrdom anniversary and National Mourning Day.

On Monday (August 15) at 6:30 in the morning, she offered wreaths at Bangabandhu Bhaban premises at Dhanmondi number 32. After that, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stood in silence for a while, paying respect to Bangabandhu. At this time, the bugle sounded a sad tune. Besides, the members of the armed forces provided a guard of honour. After that, the Prime Minister participated in Fatiha reading and prayer.

Meanwhile, the nation is remembering the martyrs of that day, including Bangabandhu, with deep and humble respect for this brutal and poignant murder in history. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was martyred on the night of August 15, 1975 in building number 32 of Dhanmondi by assassins' bullets.

The assassins not only killed the father of the nation, but also his wife Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, three sons brave freedom fighter Captain Sheikh Kamal, brave freedom fighter Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal and 10-year-old Sheikh Russell, daughter-in-law Sultana Kamal and Rosy Jamal, only brother brave freedom fighter Sheikh Abu Nasser and many others.
