Prime Minister wants dialogue to solve problems between OIC neighbours

Dhaka, Oct 20: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized on dialogue to solve all the problems between OIC neighboring countries.

She said that even if there are problems between neighboring countries of OIC, these problems should be solved through dialogue.

She said these when Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh Essa Yusuf Essa Alduhailan paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister at his official residence Ganabhaban on Thursday. After the meeting, Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed the journalists.

Ihsanul Karim said that the Prime Minister reiterated the call for unity among the Muslim Ummah on the ongoing Palestine issue. The Ambassador handed over a letter to the Prime Minister inviting him to participate in the 'OIC Conference on Women in Islam' to be held in Jeddah from November 6 to 8.

The Ambassador handed over another letter to the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister responded positively seeking Bangladesh's support for his country in hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Besides, the Ambassador urged the Prime Minister to renew his support for his country to host Expo-2030.

During the meeting, Sheikh Hasina informed the ambassador that Bangladesh is going to organize an 'Imam Conference' and she invited the Imams of the two holy mosques to attend the conference.

The Prime Minister told Alduhailan that Bangladesh has already started currency exchange with India and wants to do the same with other countries. In this context, the Saudi ambassador mentioned that his country will look into the matter.

Sheikh Hasina greeted the khadems of the two holy mosques and said that there is a special place for Saudi Arabia in the hearts of the people of Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Alduhailan praised the continuous progress of Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, M. Tofajzel Hossain Mia, was present in the meeting.
