Prime Minister wants to see Bangladesh Air Force on par with the developed world

Own representative, Dhaka, December 31: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her hope to see Bangladesh Air Force on par with the air forces of the developed world. Highlighting various steps taken by the government for the Air Force, the Prime Minister said the Air Force would soon be equipped with various types of sophisticated aircrafts, high-powered air defense radars and simulators, ATS simulator, laser guided bombs and anti-ship missiles. With the addition of these new equipment, the capability of the Air Force will be greatly enhanced.

She made the remark on Thursday (December 30) at the Presidential Parade-2021 at the Bangladesh Air Force Academy. The Prime Minister joined Bangladesh Air Force Academy in Jessore from Ganabhaban through video conference.

Addressing the new officers on the occation, the Prime Minister said, "After three long years of rigorous training, you are going to get your desired commission today. I sincerely congratulate all of you on this joyous moment. Today is an important day for you. You are about to start your career as a proud officer of the Air Force after a rigorous training. You will always love the country and the people of the country while performing your duties. Honestly fulfill the responsibilities and duties entrusted to you to protect the independence and sovereignty of the country with devotion and concentration."

At this time, the Prime Minister recalled a statement of the Father of the Nation. She said, "In this context, I am quoting a part of the speech given by the Father of the Nation to the departing cadets at the first graduation ceremony on January 11, 1975 at Comilla Military Academy — 'Today you have completed your training. But you have to remember, this is the end of one stage, and the beginning of another'."

The Prime Minister said, "I hope you will carry the message of the Father of the Nation in your heart and build yourself in such a way that you can play an active role in fulfilling the expectations of the nation. With the foresight, professionalism and hard work of your predecessors, the Air Force has reached the level it is today, it must be taken further with your talent, professionalism and patriotism. We want to see Bangladesh Air Force on par with the developed world's air forces."
