Prime Minister writes letter to POTUS Joe Biden expressing grief over the devastation and loss of life in the terrible wildfires in Maui

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 22 August 2023: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent a letter to US President Joe Biden expressing deep sorrow over the devastating fire and loss of life in Maui, Hawaii. She said, "I am deeply saddened by the news of the massive destruction and loss of life in the worst wildfire in Maui on the island of Hawaii."

The Prime Minister said, "On behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh, I express my deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims and all those affected by this natural disaster."

He said that Bangladesh stands by the government and people of America in this challenging time and expresses solidarity with the rescue workers of all fronts engaged in rescue work.

Sheikh Hasina also said that we are praying for those who have lost their loved ones in this tragic incident.

Earlier, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen sent a letter to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressing deep grief over the loss of life and destruction caused by the raging wildfires in Maui.
