Abdul Momen Process of repatriating Rohingyas ongoing: Foreign Minister
Dhaka, April 23: Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen said that the 1.1 million Rohingyas in Bangladesh are not celebrating Eid properly during Eid. The process of repatriation of Rohingyas is going on and we are insisting that Rohingyas can go to their land as soon as possible.
He said these in response to journalists' questions after the Eid congregation at historic Shahi Eidgah in Sylhet on Saturday morning. Expecting the world leaders, the Foreign Minister said that they should help us, so that the Rohingyas can go to their own country and build a better future.
Regarding Sylhet City Corporation election, he said, there will be many candidates in the election. I heard about 400 contesting candidates in 42 wards.
Regarding BNP, the Foreign Minister said, "I am happy. Because BNP often says they will not hold elections under this Election Commission. But from what I heard about Sylhet, one third of BNP candidates in this election Alhamdulillah."
He said that as many parties as there are in Bangladesh, let us all work for the well-being of the country with order, peace and harmony. I can work for the people of the country.
