Standing at the Point of Order on Sunday (November 14), Jatiya Party general secretary Mujibul Haque Chunnu said, "It has been increased by 23 percent without any prior notice. In the last few years, prices have not risen so much at once."

Mentioning that various jobs including university admission are tested on Friday and Saturday, he said, "The price of diesel was increased on Thursday. Then the transports went on strike. This has caused indescribable misery to the examinees. After the increase in diesel price, bus fare has been increased by 27 percent and boat fare by 37 percent. That is more than the rise in oil prices."

Mujibul Haque Chunnu said, "Petroleum Corporation has earned thousands of crores of takas due to the reduction in the price of fuel oil in the world. Since the present government is an elected government, why couldn't an alternative measure have been taken in the without this sudden increase in prices, especially during this pandemic? The market is out of control, commodity prices are rising, and prices of other commodities are rising because of oil."

Drawing the attention of the Prime Minister, he said, "For the sake of Allah, you should reduce the price of oil thinking of the people of the country, or take any alternative measures. Free people from dangerous situations." He also mentioned that fuel prices have started decreasing in the international market.

Jatiya Party's Rustam Ali Faraji said, "Rising diesel prices have hit the common man hard. Commodity prices have also gone up. Neighboring countries have kept this sensitive source of fuel at bay. Our government can do this if it wants to. But when oil prices fall in the international market, we are not reduced here. What percentage can it be increased with an excuse? We should think about how much we can increase. The amount of growth has become much higher. This issue should be reconsidered by the Cabinet including the Prime Minister. Because public interest is priority."
