Rafiqul Islam Rafiqul Madani used to watch porn videos: Police
Dhaka, April 14: Forensic experts have found obscene pornographic videos on Rafiqul Islam Madani's mobile phone. Police said he regularly watched porn videos. Gazipur Metropolitan Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohammad Iltutmish said this at a press briefing on Tuesday (April 13).
Iltutmish said Rafiqul Islam Madani used to conduct various anti-state activities including watching pornographic videos on his mobile phone regularly. Section 8 (5) (a) of the Pornography Control Act 2012 has been added to the case against him. An application was filed in the Gazipur Senior Judicial Court on Tuesday (April 13th) seeking a seven-day remand for Rafiqul Islam Madani, a prisoner. The court has fixed April 15 for the remand hearing.
After being detained from his home in Netrokona, RAB filed a case against Rafiqul Islam Madani under the Digital Security Act at Gachha Police Station on April 8. At that time 4 mobile phones were seized from him. Since then he has been lodged in Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur. Another case has been filed against him under the same law at Basan police station in Gazipur.
Gazipur Metropolitan Gachha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Ismail Hossain said a new section of the Pornography Control Act has been added to the case against Rafiqul Islam Madani under the Digital Security Act. His mobile phone was confiscated and given to the expert. It shows him watching and saving pornographic videos. Saving pornographic videos is a punishable offense. So that section of the pornography case has also been attached to his Digital Security Act case. Chargesheet will be given separately for those two issues while giving charge sheet.
